The arts play an essential role in the life of a metropolitan region. Urban communities thrive as centers for the arts because they bring people together at densities great enough to allow cultural development. Without at least a minimum of population spatially concentrated, it is hard to get the type of specialization that leads to artistic development in many forms of mediums such as: modern dance, a symphony orchestra, ceramics and textiles, or multimedia experiences. A synergy develops whereby residents consume and produce arts programming leading to organizations instituting new arts programs followed by new artists answering the call for cultural production. The arts then enliven the life of the region by providing experiences that increase cultural interaction; spur innovation by suggesting new ways to observe, to hear and to think about life; and add pleasure to people’s lives.

Metropolitan Muse Concert Series
Metropolitan Muse Concert Series was established in 2009 by Desiree Samira Entertainment, Inc. (DSE, Inc.) to provide a dynamic platform for the stars of the Washington, DC – Metropolitan Area & across the nation to receive a unique opportunity to perform their original music for the leading music industry professionals, tastemakers, publicists, editors and fans. The concert series offers networking opportunities crucial for career advancement.

Metropolitan Muse Exhibition
The Metropolitan Muse exhibition featuring all forms of digital art -- computer based illustration, digital video art, montages and collages, mixed media with digital elements, computer animation, interactive installations & etc. The Metropolitan Muse debut at the Radio One Music & Entertainment Convention at Raleigh Convention Center. The unique appeal of the Metropolitan Muse exhibit is the combining of fine art images in the gallery along with video art. Projection screen displays in the gallery will be continuously exhibiting the video art pieces.
